Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

Entry deadline is September 17, 2010.

The Ayn Rand Institute invites high school, undergraduate, and graduate students to enter this fall’s Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest.

Entrants may submit an 800- to 1600-word essay on one of three prescribed topics involving Atlas Shrugged and its views on money, capitalism, and selfishness. Winning submissions will exhibit a “clear, articulate and logically organized” style as well as “an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Atlas Shrugged.”

First prize is $10,000. There are three second prizes ($2,000), five third prizes ($1,000), 20 finalists ($100), and 20 semifinalists ($50).

Students may submit their essays by mail or online.
