Survivor – ALL STARS
Last week Chapera kidnapped Kathy and took her on their joint reward/immunity, while Colby was left to the mercy of a bunch of chicks who hate him. So we kiss Colby good-bye and wonder why all our favorite players are getting the boot. Did you know that after Colby lost Survivor Australia, he came to Calgary for the Women’s Show? I didn’t go, but it sounds like it would’ve been a great time!
This week, I promised some hot stuff between Boston Rob and Amber, and that’s exactly what we get. It all starts with Kathy going back to camp alone, where she receives no welcome since her tribe is still at tribal council. When they return, there is lament for the loss of Colby’s strength, but the girls are glad that his negative energy and mistrust are gone. Ethan goes on to express his shock that he wasn’t involved in the tribal council decision. Jerri, however, has a good laugh that she kicked Colby’s butt.
Tree-mail: Chapera sends a member to Mogo-Mogo with a pen and paper. They choose Jenna. But, on the Mogo-Mogo tribe, they also must send a member to Chapera. They choose Kathy. The mission, choose three items to play for at the reward challenge. The reward challenge: Log roll. Man vs. Man; Woman vs. Woman. If Chapera wins they will take the grill, a bag of rice, and the Hawaiian sling from Mogo-Mogo. In reverse, Mogo-Mogo will take a blanket, the parachute, and the tarp from Chapera. Shii Ann beats Alicia. Big Tom beats Rupert. Jenna beats Kathy. Boston Rob beats Lex. Amber beats Jeri. Chapera leads 3:2 after first round. Shii Ann beats Alicia again. Boston Rob beats Ethan. AND Amber beats Kathy. Chapera wins five to three. They take the grill, one bag of rice, and the Hawaiian sling (fishing spear) from Mogo-Mogo.
When Jenna comes to take their rice, she also brings Mogo-Mogo a bar of soap, a toothbrush, and a scrub brush. The tribe requests that Jenna leave a few scoops of rice that they could ration. When she returns to her own camp, Chapera is happy as a fish in water to have the fishing sling. AND, Rob and Amber are quite cuddly together:and when one thing leads to another, there’s some kissing, and nice romantic music to accompany it: Tear. This scene makes every woman wish she had a good strong man:even if it’s a Boston Rob.
Rupert goes fishing. Rob and Tom make fun of him, and then talk of how they don’t need him. So then Rob goes down and gets eleven more. Rupert turns around and tells us that Rob is an arrogant pain in the ass. Do you think Mark Burnett pays Rob to be who he is, or is he a real person? Immunity: weapons challenge. Blowgun: each tribe member shoots and the closest to the bull’s eye earns two arrows, other tribe earns one. Spear throw: same idea. Archery: use the arrows earned and the closest to the bull’s eye wins immunity. Jerri wins the blowgun, Rupert wins the spear throw. Each tribe has three arrows going into the final round. They choose Jerri and Boston Rob to face off. Jerri misses all three arrows and Boston Rob wins with a hit on the outer rim of the target.
Back at camp, Jerri apologizes for losing again and expresses her fear that she’s the one to go. Lex comes to her with the strategy to get rid of Ethan. Lex then goes to Ethan and explains the difference between their friendship outside of the game, and his strategy inside the game. Sappy music. Ethan is upset and angry that he’s going before Jerri. I love the image of the parasite eating the dead frog. Ethan tries to convince Kathy that Jerri is a better vote that he. At tribal council, there is talk of Ethan’s ability to win as well as the good side of keeping him in the game and taking him to the final two. Ethan’s comment when he writes Jerri’s name down is that she took his life in her hands, and she blew it. I wish he could have smashed her. She’s only there because she’s naïve.
Next week: Kathy is depressed about Mogo-Mogo’s losing streak, and everyone is ready to merge. Instead, it seems they’ll be shuffled around into two new tribes.
