WHAT’S NEW ON PRIMETIME

AMAZING RACE – Wednesdays – 9pm on CTV

I’m very mad about the way this show is progressing. We’re down to five teams, and there’s still five more non-elimination points in the race. Last week Kami and Karli were given their break and this week, the religious model couple who took a chance on the fast forward, but in the end refused to shave their heads, got a break. The highest point of excitement was the 180 ft waterslide the teams had to conquer. Anyway, maybe next week it’ll be more exciting.

This week’s order of arrival:
1. Colin/Christie
2. Chip/Kim
3. Linda/Karen
4. Kami/Karli (who started this leg with no money)
5. Brandon/Nicole (who will start the next leg with no money)

BIG BROTHER 5 – Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays – 9pm on CBS

Last time I wrote, Adria was HOH and Marvin and Will were nominated for eviction. In summary, Adria also won the power of veto that week and Will was sent home, which really ticked off his alliance of Nakomis, Diane, Drew, and Karen.

The following week, Nakomis was HOH, and she retaliated by nominating the twins, Natalie and Adria, for eviction. Adria won the power of veto, took herself off the block, and Nakomis substituted her brother, Michael for eviction. On the Thursday, we said goodbye to Natalie.

Last week, Marvin was HOH. Out of his extreme bitterness toward the twin’s deception, he again nominated Adria as well as Michael for eviction. Karen, who Adria chose to compete on her behalf, won the power of veto but did not use it. On Thursday, we said goodbye to Adria. Afterwards, Drew won the Head of Household competition.

PROJECT DNA: Nothing new. Show is actually getting kind of boring.

CANADIAN IDOL – Wednesdays, Thursdays – 9pm on CTV

The Top Ten: Each week we’ll review what song each finalist sang, what I thought (not that anyone cares), and what the judges thought.

This week the theme was “the standards.” The idols all got the chance to perform two songs with orchestral accompaniment. All of the idols did wonderful. I didn’t vote this week, because I wasn’t sure who I liked best. The judges were all blown away by the performances as well, but most agreed that it’s probably Jason’s turn to say goodbye.

Theresa Sokyrka – “It’s Only a Paper Moon” and “Dream a Little Dream of Me”
Kalan Porter – “Moon River” and “The Way You Look Tonight”
Jason Greely – “I Won’t Dance” and “It Had to Be You
