Your editorial on the issue of same-sex marriage was very well timed, given Ralph Klein’s entry into the debate. Apparently, Stephen Harper does not welcome the public statements made by his fellow red-neck!
In the article you covered many things that needed to be expressed, not the least of which is the issue of individuals who preach tolerance and yet are homophobic. The Conservatives talk about civil liberties, but only appear to be interested in human rights when it fits their own (narrow) agenda.
I also appreciate your concerns about imposing one’s own religious values on other members of society. Although I am a member of a church, and enjoy freedom of religion, I believe that people also have the right to be protected from religion.
