This conference will follow shortly after the report of the Binational Planning Group on the renegotiation of NORAD, and the emergence of Canada Command as a working organisation. These events foreshadow major changes in Continental Defence and the security relationship between Canada and the United States. They will draw public attention to these topics in a way that has not happened for two generations. This conference will bring together major figures from the Canadian and United States military, alongside leading public and academic commentators. It will address all aspects of Continental Defence, with topics ranging from the future of American-Canadian defence relations to the issue of strategic threat to North America.
