The exhibit features a wide range of techniques and styles, from the traditional to the contemporary. Every quilt has a story to tell, making each quilt interesting and unique in its own right. The quilts were designed and created by hundreds of volunteers to celebrate the lives of family and friends who have been touched by breast cancer.

The popular event draws on a new theme for each edition, and this year everyone will be invited to learn about traditional Chinese celebrations.

Visitors will be able to admire five outdoor scenes made of giant coloured lanterns, representing typical festive events: a dragon dance, a dragon boat race, a lion dance, a flying kite and, finally, two costumed figures on stilts. In the Friendship Pavilion they will also be able to examine a collection of musical instruments, including a drum, an essential part of all these festivities.

The festival has four main sections:
