Valerie Prueger – The Talk:

Is the concept and meaning of freedom universal? This presentation will explore this question through the lens of Western and Eastern philosophies, as well as through the philosophy of songwriters. The freedoms offered by democracy will be examined in the context of their availability to those who live in the margins, especially racialized individuals. Do we really know what freedom is? Is it something we must seek or are we chasing something that is inherent in being human? This talk may pose more questions than answers, which will hopefully lead to a rich discussion.
