Vintage Voice!

Unearthing Classic Articles from Previous Issues of The Voice Magazine

If you’re feeling a bit peckish today, you might be interested to know it’s National Sandwich Day.  For some reason, the humble sandwich has filled a number of Voice articles.

Excuse me while I cocoon.  Bill Pollett embraces cold-and-flu season and some virus-busting raw-onion sandwiches.  “I’m enjoying this homebody thing so much that once this cold has gone I’m thinking of cancelling as many social engagements as possible and extending the semi-isolation thing right through the end of the month.”  November Bliss, November 10, 2004.

Making a sandwich is too cooking!  Rebecca Flann strives to live up to her appliances.  “The oven raises the standards. The oven sets certain expectations. One who uses the oven must be able to cook well. It has settings I need definitions for. In short, I am intimidated.”  Cooking, Moving and Intimidation, October 8, 2003.
