Overcoming any Tendency to Float

I floated a bit today; floating is the kryptonite for dream achievement.  Floating means we have lost time that we could have dedicated to improving ourselves.  I needed direction with writing my documentary, so I downloaded a free audiobook on time management from Audible.  I listen to audiobooks all day while I work, which is not floating, but the pen needs to hit the grindstone.  In other words, we flourish when we do more than consume knowledge; we are meant to create.

I write down goals each day, but I could accomplish more.  We all could achieve the ideal in anything we set out to do.  The goal is not just to gain success—to win—it’s to “become” the essence of success.  That involves refining how we think, talk, behave, and love.  Every thought is best served focused on the goals, ideally motivated by the highest form of love: agape love.

So, I made a book trailer for an author, aiming to up the ante with each subsequent book trailer.  This week’s trailer was compelling, but it wasn’t 100% perfect.  I realize that if I’m going to make a fantastic documentary, I need to make the book trailers at a quality where I don’t think, “It’s great except for …”.  Instead, I need to create flawless videos.  That’s because when we watch an Academy Award-winning documentary, nothing in it is unintentionally “off” or jarring.  To achieve a higher level of quality, we must invest the time (or outsource).  When we take this high-quality mindset into our academics, we gain surprising results, especially if we study diligently and passionately.

I am still determining how I’ll get the cardiologist to agree to an interview, as his terms include that I receive funding.  However, all three funding agencies rejected me, so I’m on my own to finance the project.  The cardiologist recommended some high-profile interviewees, but the three interviewees are all I need to convey this film’s message.  So, I need to give him something spectacular to encourage him to continue with the film.  I hope a preliminary script outline might persuade him, although I may need a more compelling reason.  Nonetheless, preparation and hard work are crucial for our goal achievement.  That’s why maximizing every moment counts.

Also, I sent the video book trailer I made to a producer considering MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying).  I believe God made me stumble on the producer’s profile to send her a message of hope.  It would break my heart if she or anyone else terminated their life with MAID, as we’ve all got missions to accomplish, and our time to achieve them is limited even without MAID.  So, rushing to the end line without running the race wastes this precious opportunity to fulfill the missions we came here to accomplish.  And the trauma we may undergo to realize those missions is part of the divine plan, as it’s all meant to bring us to a higher state of love.  We all have missions, and MAID is the antithesis of that goal.  Though others disagree, I view it as government-sanctioned murder.  I believe life is too short, even without MAID, and we must make the most of every second.

Good fortune does not discriminate based on circumstances or talent; it is available to all with preparation, dedication, and resilience.  In everything we do, the optimal path is to strive for the ideal—the highest possible achievement intertwined with love.  When we optimize our time, we skyrocket toward our wildest dreams!
