Student Sizzle—Following What’s Hot!

AU Social Media

Facebook:

Don’t drop out of AU!  A student is considering dropping out of AU because a required class for the computer science degree, SCIE 326m is challenging for many students.  AUSU’s Vice President External commented and agreed that the class is terrible, indicating that it should be considered a philosophy class, loaded with poorly designed content. Other options mentioned included working with AU, seeing if other school courses can be transferred to AU, transferring to a Bachelor General Studies degree, retaking the exam instead of the entire course, requesting alternative assessments (such as a paper instead of an exam), and saving the course for last to focus on it solely for six months.

Reddit:

How employers perceive AU degrees. A student requests that AU promote its reputation better to employers, ideally through social media, TV, and radio. Other students respond that people get into med school out of AU, AU garners award-winning research, AU might reflect well on remote careers, employers aren’t commonly interested in transcripts, and AU has more recognition than international schools and career colleges.
