Program Timing. A student asks how long it takes to finish three semesters while working versus not working. Responses caution that tutors can delay returning grades, learning retention may be lower with a rapid speed of learning, and some courses mandate course progress occur after milestones, such as completion of specific assignments or midterm exams. But others suggest that a rate of 2 classes per month can lead to the completion at five months, or that working half-time and studying diligently during spare time for a month, allowed finishing three courses with A’s.

How challenging is the graduate program? A student asks how manageable the MA-IS graduate program is, given a semester consisting of one core grouped course and an elective. A student found it manageable but had supportive people and an easy job, contributing to the success. Another student takes one course a semester, as more than that would be too much. However, this student recommends simultaneously taking one individualized study with one group study or two individualized study courses. That’s because the individualized courses offer extensions and the ability to determine one’s timeline.
