Research Assistant Opportunity—Food Insecurity and the Damage Done by Poor Public Policy

No caring person wants their family to go undernourished or unfed – but in Canada it happens all the time. Maybe the Food Bank hamper has run dry or maybe paycheques have been lean, but students and parents alike face increased food shortages.

Furthering this social justice cause, Dr. Alexa Ferdinands advertises for a Research Assistant position. Qualitative research toward some actionable merits are the hallmark of this social science position. The successful applicant will “support an SSHRC-funded project examining policy responses to household food insecurity in Canada.” Writing and independent research skills are critical, as the work will include scrutiny of studies and data so as to further reports on suggested policy positions and actions by relevant parties. Now’s your chance to put your best academic foot forward toward some real progressive change in Canada!

If this sounds up your alley in times of wont here in Canada, please send your resume, cover letter, trasnscript, and contact details for one or two references to Dr. Ferdinands: aferdinands@athabascau.ca
