Denied funding. A student received an extension for a full-time funded course and was denied funding. Other students say the full-time status of three classes or more needs to be met, and the extension is okay if a new semester isn’t started with the outstanding extension. Other students say different provinces have different rules. Another student advises never to drop a course that will alter the student’s status. One additional student indicates that students with disabilities only need 40% of a course load.
Variability with tutor grading? A student expresses frustration with the variability of tutor marking. Other students note some markers dock marks for formatting instead of the content. Other comments note how variability in marking is common at most universities or suggest stroking the marker’s ego by posing questions and requesting advice can sometimes help. By all means, says this student, don’t outperform the marker as it stirs jealousy.
