A Job For The Strong in Spirit

Research Assistant Opportunity!—Crisis Management Within Educational Institutions

A small crisis erupts every time we realize that we are behind, wayyy behind, in our AU studies.  To mitigate ensuing chaos and panic, a cogent evaluation of our priorities is logically a ticket to success.  We’ve basically got to keep calm and study on.  But our mild heroism, with pen thrust behind an ear and nose glued to the metamorphic grindstone, pales in comparison to the work done by emergency responders.  This job posting is about investigating what goes on behind the scenes before and after a real crisis; research will seek “to better understand the level of preparedness that teachers and administrators have in terms of planning, training, and taking leadership for crisis management in schools.”

Following a calamity, perhaps a tectonic earthquake or even a cultural crisis in confidence (who can forget the tears and gnashing of teeth following Trump’s 2016 election win?), there’s a need for AU staff to mitigate the fallout.  “Mental health” is here the focus, so if you’re a would-be therapist or  psychologist this might be the job for you.  Using “data analysis” toward “manuscript preparation” a report with recommendations is on offer.  Interested candidates are asked to forward resume, cover letter, AU transcript, and two references to Dr. Venise Bryan at vbryan@athabascau.ca.
