Marie Well

I’m Marie Well, as in healthy well. At least, that’s my aim—to get well and make you well. We all have woes, from breakups to cancer to hoarder houses. I’m here to fix those woes—with tips mixed with my own tales.

Why read me? I’ve got a track record of fixin’ stuff. I’ve cured myself of anxiety. For a decade, I had anxiety attacks that struck almost daily. When not stricken, I’d write Voice articles, mostly on how to combat stress.

And then my world changed. One week went by with no attacks. A month. A year. Two years. And counting.

Now, I want to skyrocket our health—and bolster our creativity. After all, nothing soothes better than strokes of paint or tones of music or reps in a gym.

So, let’s get fit, creative, and well with Marie Well.

Traits of Highly Empathetic People

I have a childhood friend who is a beautiful empath.  Everyone, especially you, has many delightful gifts, some of them yet to be discovered.  My childhood friend’s gift of empathy translated into her brilliant leadership style.  Her style involves knowing what matters to her staff so that she can provide support, love, and encouragement. If… Read more »

How to Truly Not Care What People Think

When I went through a trying time in the math department, my brother said, “Don’t care what other people think.” He said it because he cared about me.  But I needed to learn how to operationalize it.  I didn’t want to grow colder, which seemed to be a byproduct of not caring. But after some… Read more »

Tips for Creating Courses or Presentations

As a student, you likely possess knowledge many others don’t.  That’s why you should design and publish a course.  Or, at the very least, create an academic presentation.  I have a goal of earning six figures within five years.  I also aim to stay with my company until my employer leaves this world, hopefully at… Read more »

What I’d Do If I Were Bedridden for Ten Years

Have you ever fallen asleep and had thoughts randomly enter your head?  Did you just go with those thoughts or seriously question them?  And what if you had total paralysis, were in a coma, or were bedridden, unable to withstand a human voice or sunlight?  What would you do with those thoughts, then? I considered… Read more »

Great and Noble Love

“Great and noble thoughts upon which you habitually dwell become great acts.” ~ Joseph Murphy ~ I went from crying daily for over a year to my present state of laughter and joy.  In part, it’s because of the two-hour exercise stints, which just feel incredible.  But mostly it’s because I’m learning to love and… Read more »

Is it Wise to Be Physically Vain?

Life’s most important goal is to love all others.  Although many may disagree, I believe it’s vital to put all others before self.  So, that’s why I faced an existential crisis when I deleted an article on fitness I wrote yesterday for The Voice Magazine.  What troubled me was that I promoted fitness vanity as… Read more »

Building a Spiritual Metaverse

How do you build a Metaverse?  I’m an amateur.  I’m still struggling to figure out how to use my Metamask Wallet to buy NFTs and cryptocurrencies, and it’s all quite confusing.  And the best way I can explain a Metaverse is that it’s like having your avatar in a 3d video game with other real… Read more »

Online Shopping Addiction—The Final Cure

As you may already know, I have a newly formed shopaholic addiction that is snowballing out of control.  And I think I’ve finally found a solution to ban it for good.  You might also find the strategy effective in eliminating any troubling trait, addiction, or habit you may wish to overcome.  So, here it is:… Read more »

Radically Different Diets and How They Changed My Life

Back during my undergrad, I was anorexic and out of shape.  I drank multiple pots of coffee and decaf daily.  In addition, my diet consisted of a bit of hummus and pita bread at dinner time.  As a result, I could barely run ten strides without petering out. But then I met a mentor who… Read more »

Why Her Pain was Beautiful

If you want to know what you’ve been doing in the past, look at your body today. If you want to see what you’ll be doing in the future, look at your mind today. That’s a Buddhist expression, highlighting why it’s essential to keep your thoughts vibrant. As I walked home carrying a giant milk… Read more »
